About Jasmine ShoShanna

A long-time environmental activist, Jasmine’s attachment to the land began on her grandparent's farm with black and red raspberry cash crops while raising a variety of subsistence crops to sustain their family. Her love of gardening can be traced to her mother, an avid gardener with a special love of Asian gardens, ornamental trees and shrubs.

Jasmine’s love of wild plants and the natural environment brought her to study herbs with Susan Weed, Diana Donovan, Kim Issacs and many other herbal-wise people.

Jasmine’s educational background reflects her passion for connecting people to the land. Her undergraduate degree is in Biology while her Masters, from Appalachian State University (ASU), is in Human Development.  She has taught freshman seminar at ASU and dance at Lees McRae College.

Jasmine has owned and operated Jasmine’s Gardens since 2006 and The Compost Operation since 2008. Sustaining long-term relationships with clients and repeat business is the foundation of Jasmine’s Gardens. This gardening and natural living company combines Jasmine’s love of nature, health, and beauty with her desire to work together to create a world where Nature matters, and where clean, healthy living is more important than the latest outbreak of technology.

Jasmine and her crew are available for creating and maintaining gardens and natural living spaces.

Jasmine is also available for public speaking, art installments, workshops, and personal consultations.
